Galaxy S2 will update to Android Ice cream Sandwich 4.0

The Galaxy S II will be receiving update from Current Android 2.3 Gingerbread to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon.According to sources update will occur in India on Third week of May.Samsung users in India are waiting for reciving this update from begining of this year onwards.Earlier some rumors spread that update will available in India on February last during Mobile World Congress.,but nothing results.Sony introduce Android ICS update for three smart phones on April 25.,but users havent get any offical information from Samsung India about update.Few days ago some Countries including Australia also get update.Users from Malasiya will get ICS update only by June.

Reasons for delay in Galaxy S2 update in India

Samsung has offered two different versions of the Galaxy S II smartphones - GT-I9100 and GT-I9100G. The latter model - GT-I9100G carries an overclocked Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor with PowerVR SGX540 graphics chip. Though the processor speeds of both the processors are practically the same, the PowerVR SGX540 falls short in front of the Mali-400 graphics chip in the GT-I9100 model.
Due to the two different versions of the Galaxy S II models being made available in India update is delayed
